1969 to 2011, 42-year career with St. Joseph Public Schools in St. Joseph, Michigan, 28 years as choral director and music education teacher, and 14 years as Director of Technology.

1981-2019, Professional Computer Systems in St. Joseph, Michigan, co-owned with his wife a computer sales, service, computer education, and consulting business.

He has one daughter and family (four grandchildren) who live in Cleveland, where his daughter works for Cleveland Clinic.

Ren is the son of a Church of God Pastor, so he has lived his entire life in the Church of God.
