Sherilyn (Sheri) K. (Beverly) Myricks is the daughter of Rev. Sethard and Sandra (Doniphan) Beverly, wife of Rev. Charles Myricks, Jr. and mother of three adult children and one grandson. Her life’s journey began in Kansas City, Kansas, where she had the privilege of being raised by genuine Chrisitan parents, in the loving care of Third Street Church of God (now New Seasons Christian Community Church) and deeply connected to the larger Church of God movement. Sheri had the privilege of attending the award-winning Sumner Academy of Arts and Science public high school and later, Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education, Social Studies. She is currently enrolled in Anderson University’s School of Theology and Christian Ministry pursuing a Certificate in Christian Ministry Foundation.
Sheri met Charles Myricks, Jr. at Anderson Campmeeting in 1975. They married ten years later in 1985 and made their home in his hometown of Akron, Ohio. Sheri spent ten years in education as a high school teacher for Akron Public Schools (Akron, Ohio) and as a facilitator in an adult, computer-based learning center. After the couple moved to Nashville, Tennessee she found her heart’s passion in her role as Office Manager and Executive Assistant for the Nashville Sports Council. Upon return to Akron, it was during her nine years at the Akron Urban League, where her passion to assist a leader in organizational management, analysis, strategic planning, and public relations led her to assume increasing responsibilities including Director of Marketing and President’s Hall Operations. Sheri later became Operations Coordinator at Leadership Akron before hearing the call of God to take a hiatus from full-time work and begin informal and formal religious study. Her life-long passions for communication and organizational health now combine beautifully in her role as pastor’s wife and Communications Director at Arlington Church of God in Akron, Ohio.
