We are sad to announce that our Editor-in-Chief, Rev. Richard Willowby, left this earth to enter the glory of Heaven on Sunday morning, November 30. Richard and Roger Brewer, President of Vital Words, heard God’s voice calling them to launch this new communication tool about three years ago. Their passion for Christian Unity and Holiness was shared by each. Richard’s vision for this project was big, bold and exciting. However, he has suffered several hospital stays since then, stays that have not allowed him to develop the dream as we had hoped. Richard will be greatly missed!
Vital Words currently has a staff of five persons that meet on Zoom every Monday afternoon. We have an Executive Committee consisting of Sheri Myricks, Jeff Frymire, Ren Badwin, Richard Mansfield, Jerry Eddy, Katy Hull-treasurer, Ruben Schwieger-secretary, (Editor-in-Chief,) and Roger Brewer-president. We also have a larger Board of about twenty members to help guide us.
We, at Vital Words, plan to continue. We are looking for someone to be the Editor-in-Chief and continue the mission to bring Christians together and live as Jesus directed.
Following is a list suggesting what we are looking for in an Editor-in-Chief. It is likely that no one person possesses all the following, but these are areas that are helpful.
Has a love for the Bible, God’s Vital Words for us
Has some experience or knowledge of editing, both written articles and interactive video
Is Theologically sound
Has some knowledge of the history of the Church of God Movement
Desires to bring all Christians together in unity and thus fulfill Jesus’ desire that “they all may be one”
Has some understanding concerning the potential of an online magazine
Has contacts with persons that can create content
Can manage and create Forums/Chat Rooms that deal with the many aspects of Christian living, ministry, and service
Can manage our staff
Is financially able to not require a salary. We plan to raise money/find grants to support this ministry including providing salaries for the staff.
Has specific skills that may not be listed above
Is willing to grow and learn
